I love radio, I love audio, and so of course I love podcasting. I wanted a tool that would help me manage all my many many podcast subscriptions, all on one page. A number of things bugged me about iTunes, the main thing was: I wanted a webpage where I could decide what I wanted to download. Ideally I wanted some way to put all the podcasts I wanted to hear into one place and then let them play – so instead of listening to the radio all day, I could listen to podcasts.
So I asked Chris, and Kristen to help (they were both instrumental in making LibriVox happen), and eventually Collectik was born.
The nice thing about Collectik is that you’re just subscribed to ONE podcast feed in iTunes (or Juice), instead of many different ones. Every podcast episode I want to listen to ends up in this feed:

You can subscribe to that feed too. Since that was another thing I wanted: to know what my friends listen to.
Collectik is still going through some growing pains, and we’re trying to strip down the design. Julien is helping with that. We learned that you can’t fix a lack of clarity by adding more features; in fact that makes things worse. Better to find your focus, and do that well, then think about new features.
Here is a list of Podcasts I collect in collectik.
And here is my Collectik playlist, in a flash audio player. You can press “play” and listen all day to the stuff I like to listen to…If you sign up to Collectik, I can listen to your playlist in the same way:
