Hugh, the first video you put up, La Villa Strangiato, is THE BEST RUSH VIDEO EVER. It’s also the best music video of ANY BAND EVER. I discovered it a few days ago and have watched it a thousand times since. I even had Kara scrape it off youtube for me. I’m talking mostly about the solo in the beginning of the video, though the rest is cool too.
The young, soulful, raw talent of Lerxst there is mindblowing. I just saw him 5 days ago in Irvine and he’s at least as amazing now as he was then, but seeing someone do something like this so young is just crazy. Crazy. CRAZY. CRAZY GOOD. OMFG!@#$^^*%($#*.
There are plenty of mind-blowingly technically-gifted guitar players out there. A lot of them make songs like “Cliffs of Dover” (Eric Johnson). That song is fast & pretty, but also a bit shallow, and it doesn’t make your head explode. Or maybe it does, but it’s a different, more easily-impressed part of your mind that explodes.
BEST RUSH VIDEO EVER
BEST MUSIC VIDEO EVER
BEST VIDEO EVER
BEST COLLECTION OF BITS EVER
BEST THING EVER
THANKS HUGH!
