The subprime mortgage market in the US is beginning to collapse as things go into default -- and that means tons of new houses built on speculation are becoming worthless -- the construction industry is in a slump -- and combined with the strong loony, my dad's old company (BPCO, they make shingles) is now in dire straits... and that's just one angle.
