Very insightful, as usual. Now, part of this is interpreted as "user-gen" by Old Media talking about "Web 2.0." Another part is DIY (people doing things for themselves, having fun doing it, scratch your own itch...). Yet another part is plain and simple idealism. Many people talk about creativity and innovation (as these should be essential for new businesses). But there's fairly little talk of idealism even though it's clearly a driving force behind much of those initiatives you talk about. And LV is an excellent example of this. Niiice!
